Wendy Chen (@wendychenart) is the author of Unearthings (Tavern Books) and has been invited to teach, speak, and read at various colleges and organizations including the Academy of American Poets, Poets & Writers, New York University, Yale University, Wellesley College, and others. She is the recipient of the Academy of American Poets Most Promising Young Poet Prize, and fellowships from the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts and the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund. She earned her MFA in poetry as a University Fellow from Syracuse University. She is currently co-founder and editor for Figure 1, an online poetry journal featuring new and underrepresented voices. Wendy is also a translator of Chinese poetry, focusing in particular on women writers. Her forthcoming translations of the poems of the Song dynasty writer Li Qingzhao will be published later this year through Tavern Books under the title The Magpie at Night.
