Wendy Chen (wendychenart.com) is the author of the poetry collection Unearthings (Tavern Books), editor of Figure 1, managing editor of Tupelo Quarterly, and poetry editor of Denver Quarterly. The recipient of the Academy of American Poets Most Promising Young Poet Prize, Chen earned her MFA in poetry from Syracuse University. Her short stories, creative nonfiction, and translations have appeared in CrazyhorseA Public SpaceMid-American Review and elsewhere. Her work has received favorable notice in various critical venues, including The Rumpus, The Harvard Review, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Pleiades, Longreads, The Millions, and others. She has taught and spoken at colleges, universities, and arts organizations including the Academy of American Poets, Poets & Writers, New York University, Yale University, and Wellesley College. Currently, Chen is a PhD student at the University of Denver. Her debut novel Their Divine Fires is forthcoming from Algonquin in 2024.
